February 2008 : Mina came back for another bondage week-end … my flickr friend Warai Otoko joined us for shooting some french shibari :)

few days before I changed my old Nikon D200 for the D300 and I didn’t test if before. I won’t speak again about the camera settings, I already wrote a lot about it. I gave my camera to Warai Otoko as I was able to take most of my time for bondage. As always, I prepared everything (lightning, aperture and speed), like this, my guest has just to click and shoot. when I saw the result on my screen, I didn’t like how the Nikon worked and then started a long fight LOL anyway, my work is focused on shadows and deep tones since more than one year and the result is not so bad. I started by a bondage position I had in my mind but the result is not exactly what I expected … I didn’t want to build all the session around a suspension because it’s not easy for the photographer, especially when he’s not trained to this special exercise. So, after the first position, standing up with a tight crotch rope, I started to semi-suspend Mina before to give her another flight. I always prefer to put the girl in semi-suspension before to lift her other leg. Mina knows that kind of game and it’s always pleasant to watch her fully suspended in the air … I hope you will appreciate it too :) thanks to my model and my guest !

french girl in cage … second time for Amélie : the pin-up is ready to be gagged. Miss, I have a nice ball-gag harness made in purple leather waiting for you !

the day before this shooting, I decided to install my lightbox over the cage sending sharp and hard light from the roof. I got that idea one year ago for a video shooting we never made with Anaïs due to schedule problems. But, the real addition to my initial goal was to use a softbox and a black background behind the cage. It gives a good contrast between the skin and the dark areas. Of course, I didn’t trying to shoot well lighted skin : I wanted to capture the shadows and the special atmosphere of all this. Since three months, I seriously worked on the right way to fix problems encountered with the Nikon D300 for studio shooting. After the dark zones, I enhanced the grey tones and also the color saturation : the result appears correct to my eyes now, then, I’m actually working on the sharpness and I gave a better protection filter to my pro lens to satisfy the cmos sensor. So, now I am more comfortable with the basic results, I am able to go back to the essence of my work : creativity and framing. I would never tried that kind of difficult configuration if I wouldn’t begin to trust my camera : the contrast between dark and light areas is a good trap and I wasn’t sure about the result. Finally, it worked great even if everything is not perfect. Amélie looks really nice in the cage and we shot a lot of pin-up pictures before to record on video the action. Indeed, after being gagged, Amélie started drooling and I got the idea to make her clean the cage : using her hands first before to be cuffed … then she was forced to use her feet and it was really fun to see. I didn’t want to do lot of things in the cage with the same girl : I got the idea to shoot 3 different sets using the same configuration with 3 different french girls. We could name it a triptych, each part making an echo to the other one. As I explained on the blog, Amélie in the cage is the first part, focused on the ball-gag play. You will get bondage in the second and third part but I won’t write more for now ;-) You will notice Amélie got a new tattoo during the summer and I love the harmony of those lines on the left side. You will also appreciate the ball-harness built in purple leather : this item has been made on request by Heiko from www.marlons.de and I didn’t use it yet. I got the idea to include this colored harness to give a nice touch of color to the whole scene. I hope you will love it !

Here is a session we did in July 2005 with Dana. Several reasons made this shooting special for me including the place where we shot. Marc was kind enough to welcome us in his parisian appartment.

First reason, the nice location where I already worked 3 years ago when latex culture just started. I kept in memory his kitchen : a really cool open space, perfect for a french maid dressed in latex. Moreover, Marc is the best guy I met when I was moving in the french fetish places (shops and parties) … a long time ago ! He’s cool, positive, clever and professional : I love his sense of humour … politically incorrect, like me ! Second reason, I had to deal with the Dana’s hair color and cut : she decided this major change the day before our photo session. I don’t love this new haircut : maybe it’s okay for everyday life but it doesn’t match with my work … Dana’s face looks strange and the orange color ruined the two others sets scheduled after the kitchen one. However, I said nothing to Dana about it and we shot the first set : I just tried to photography the best angles to minimize the problem. Fortunately, hair color was matching with the kitchen colors : I remember Dana telling me “you see, it’s nice on pictures” … yep. It was correct on this set but it would have been 100 times better with her usual hair length and color !

as I said, there are several things which make this shooting special for me. Let’s go on … Third reason : the light : there was a lot of sun in Marc’s appartment and no way to bring darkness in the room. So, I mixed the light sources : two softboxes and the natural daylight. I was anxious about the result but the color harmony is really interesting. When I edited this serie in 2005, I wasn’t totally satisfied about the contrast but the problem has been fixed last week when I remastered the whole set. My taste changed and my photoshop editing changed too : before, I was obsessed by light tones but nowadays, I spend more time on details, trying to find the right balance between “good looking picture” and “render the reality”. maybe my taste will change again later, I just hope you love my actual photoshop editing ! Something more serious now. Fourth reason is that shooting sounds like a summary of this job : it can be really fun, working in a good atmosphere, joking and smiling … some others session can be the opposite : boring, painful, stressing and blah blah blah. That day, we got the both sides : everything started well, good atmosphere, relax people but everything changed in 20 seconds and 4 sentences. I was worried about a mistake we did in the end of the first set + I was always annoyed by Dana’s new haircut. We shot the second set but, on this one, the most important was Dana’s face and, unfortunately, the new haircut didn’t helped us. I stopped the sequence and made the set shorter : Dana understood my mood. I said nothing about the haircut changed. Four hours later her arrival, Dana understood the problem and questionned me. I answered something like “I don’t love it” very short, leaving the room because we had to install stuff for the third set. I am really curt sometimes. I think and speak fast and I am not used to loose time with sterile conversations. For the first time in 3 years, I really saw my words and my cold reaction hurted Dana. I forget sometimes women are not so strong they claimed … I don’t like tears then we spoke together.

As I often say to my friends, human part is predominant in that job. After a small discussion, we were able to start a third set even if my mood and creativity have been ruined. I was unable to forget that small incident as I was more worried about what happened in the end of the maid set. Explanation : after the metal restraint, I tied Dana on the kitchen furniture with jute ropes. No problem even if hard furniture is not comfortable when you’re bound over ! Sometimes, new ideas are coming while we shoot : Marc suggested we could put coarse salt on the table. I didn’t think a lot of about this idea except the coarse salt looks really nice and sounds like a good drama tool. Indeed, everybody is able to understand the coarse salt is really disturbing for the bound girl. I added the salt on the table and I helped Dana to go over these grains. I know that was uncomfortable but I didn’t guess one thing : salt is really agressive for the skin ! I don’t know if the body weight or the wet skin increased the effect but, time after time, the salt is slowly penetrating the skin and becomes really irritating. Be sure it’s like burning when you are bound and you are moving over the particles ! So, when we discovered Dana’s red skin, all of us were really worried and sorry. and I was more than others because it’s my job to think about everything. Fortunately, the skin of her breast was okay two days later but, at this time, I was really anxious about marks for several days. That’s why I was nervous after that first set and that’s also why Dana overreacted when I gave my impression about her haircut. I totally understand it now : if I was she, feeling my breast burning, trying to do my best to please jG, decided to get a nice head for the shooting … getting bad comment makes you sad !

Anyway, we got an happy end to the story. Our set in the kitchen featuring Dana dressed in french maid uniform looks great. Dana always loved latex and challenge, she got what she loves. Using handcuffs to make her elbows tight in the back was an evil idea but this image is very popular to my fans. I always appreciated metal restraint but this simple idea gave a strong drama to the maid cleaning action. You should love the details revealed by the higher resolution files : I adore the pictures focused on the coarse salt stuck to the bound tits … I know you will love close-up shots of Dana gagged and drooling. I also included one picture of the skin mistreated by the coarse salt ;-p Now, it’s time to let you rediscover this great set which has been remastered in 1000×1504 resolution.

last month, you discovered Miss Eskarina in latex restraint. just after the straitjacket set, she accepted to be bound with ropes … here is her first bondage photo session !

as I explained recently, I started shooting Eskarina in the beginning of year 2008 for fetish sessions only. but, like lot of women before, she wanted to try bondage with one guy who is skilled and known to think about his model’s limits. I wasn’t sure she would be comfortable with ropes, that’s the reason why I quickly tested her few weeks before. after this test, I got the feeling we would be able to shoot a quick and comfortable rope photo set and I was right. of course, I did something easy for that girl who has never been before … while I was playing with ropes, Eskarina told me she loves toe bondage : no need to give more ideas, I worked on them and the position became less comfortable … isn’t it Miss ? I think we got several good pictures even if I regret we needed to tickle her feet in the end to get more than nice eyes and cool smile … Eskarina isn’t a fetish model, she’s more involved in fashion photography : that’s why you won’t see her bound many times … if she wants to continue her bondage discovery, I will probably ask to our friend AnnLiz to come : she’s an expert in the art of tickling :-) many thanks to Eskarina for her confidence and special greetings to my friend Audrey for the extra hand !
